Mt Arthur Coal is currently undergoing an expansion

Mt Arthur Coal is currently undergoing an expansion from 15 to 20 million tonnes of coal per annum. The deposit offers the challenge of operating in a multi-seam, steeply dipping environment. Ongoing expansion in a complex environment offers outstanding candidates the ability to develop professionally in a variety of roles.

Reporting directly to Manager Shovels, your responsibilities in regard to the fleet of three P&H 4100 electric rope shovels will include designing and reviewing mining plans and activities with an eye to optimising mining efficiency, and shovel productivity.

You will also maintain history for each strip and seam pass, quantities and production rates versus actual, culminating in weekly and monthly reports as well as undertaking supervisory work as directed. Regular field visits to ensure our high quality standards and all relevant industry procedures are being followed will also be required.

The successful applicant will demonstrate sound production knowledge and operational awareness and hold a current Driver’s License.

Professional qualifications in Civil Engineering, Surveying or Mining Engineering and a NSW Coal Mine Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency would be highly regarded.
